Recently, my health has seemed to decline. Even though I was sticking to my gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, egg-free lifestyle, food still bothered me. I was exhausted all the time. Even getting through a 40-hour work week seemed to take a toll on my body. I also got to the point where I had to keep snacks with me so I wouldn't pass out or get light-headed. I finally decided I had to get a second opinion on what was going on.
A few weeks ago, Kris and I took a trip to Colorado to see a specialist. He specializes in testing the whole body instead of just focusing on one problem area at a time.
My appointment was on April 1st. The whole appointment was 4 hours long! I'm so glad I went. I was a little skeptical but I really didn't have anything to lose at this point. When I talked to the "Colorado Doctor," I finally felt like my pain wasn't all in my head. I don't have a complete diagnosis yet but I do know that my system is not working correctly. He told me I would have to be patient and persistent because I had a lot going on but he would help me unravel each issue one thing at a time. **Fingers Crossed** I hope to start feeling better once I get more information! I have my phone appointment on April 25th to figure out what is going on in my body.
Going through a process of questioning what is going on is very difficult. I am sure many others have health issues that they are not aware of. All I have to say is don't lose hope and don't let someone say it is "All in your head." Usually if something feels "off" it is your body telling you something is wrong. Also, surround yourself with people who care. I wouldn't be able to make it through this journey without wonderful family and friends!
